We have in the works an amateur full contact tournament. Inspired by the Shidokan style tournament but with more rounded rules. It is our concern that all fighter have a "level playing field" going into their matches. One opponents specialty may be in the first few rounds while the other opponents specialty may be a few rounds away in the contest. They need to specialize in "all ways" but we are exploring ways to make it as fair as possible for all contestants throughout the contest.
We do however feel they have a good format stressing that each participant needs to be proficient in differant styles and differant ranges in order to be successful. We do not like the amount of rounds and the order of deciding which style or portion of the tournament goes first. We do also plan to have our fighters where gloves.
With the minor things aside, we love the Shidokan and it was "their vision" that has inspired our future tournament.
